Monitoring and assessing

Ongoing assessment and monitoring are embedded throughout all phases of the teaching and learning cycle.

By continuously assessing and monitoring, you can reflect on:

  • your own practice to determine impact and be responsive to student needs
  • individual student progress to inform future directions for learning and provide ongoing feedback.

Professional learning

The teaching and learning cycle (staff only) is an accredited 1.5-hour e-learning course available in MyPL.

This course looks at each phase of the teaching and learning cycle and helps you to understand the importance of the teaching and learning cycle and how to use it in your teaching practice. It explores the evidence base for this content and why these practices are important for student growth.
